Cardinals stun Eagles, 21-17

The Arizona Cardinals came from behind to stun the Philadelphia Eagles, 21-17, and possibly ruin their season.

The Cardinals continue to be one of the NFL’s worst teams, yet they have proven to be a thorn in the side of many contenders.

With Kevin Kolb still sidelined with a toe injury, John Skelton made the most of his opportunity.

Skelton was smart enough to know that he needed to get Larry Fitzgerald the ball, and the duo certainly didn’t disappoint. ( Read More…)

Cardinals lock up Fitzgerald

The Arizona Cardinals can now breathe easy after locking up wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to a long-term contract.

Concerned that Fitzgerald could skip town at the end of the season, the Cardinals gave him an eight-year contract worth $120 million.

The deal includes a $50 million signing bonus, making it one of the richest contracts in NFL history.

The contract will keep Fitzgerald under the team’s control through the 2018 season, essentially assuring he will end his career with the Cardinals. ( Read More…)

Cardinals ask Fitzgerald to weigh in on QB

The Arizona Cardinals are getting wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald involved in their quarterback situation.

The team has contacted Fitzgerald to get his opinion on which quarterback they should try to sign or acquire.

Fitzgerald’s talents were completely wasted this year as the Cardinals struggled mightily in the wake of Kurt Warner’s retirement.

The wide receiver suggested trading for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb, a hot commodity these days. ( Read More…)

Cardinals no match for 49ers, 38-7

The Arizona Cardinals finished off the season in fitting fashion, getting pounded by the San Francisco 49ers, 38-7.

Quarterback John Skelton split time with backup Richard Bartel in one of the ugliest combo’s you will ever see.

The two quarterbacks combined for just over 200 yards passing, one touchdown and two interceptions.

The only good news was wideout Larry Fitzgerald hauled in 11 catches for 125 yards and a score. ( Read More…)

Fitzgerald likes Arizona, winning

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald doesn’t want to go anywhere, but he also likes to win.

There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks that Fitzgerald might want to play elsewhere given the quarterback situation.

The wide receiver said he loves Arizona and playing for head coach Ken Whisenhunt, and he feels like he has been treated well by the organization.

That said, Fitzgerald also made it clear that he will not go through losing seasons like this one on a regular basis. ( Read More…)

Cardinals embarass Broncos, 43-13

The Arizona Cardinals finally broke out of their slump with a 43-13 win over the Denver Broncos.

Quarterback John Skelton got his first career start and held his own, throwing for 149 yards.

Cardinals fall to Rams, 19-6

The Arizona Cardinals are all but out of the playoff race now after a 19-6 loss to the St. Louis Rams.

The Cardinals tried three different players at quarterback against the Rams, but they were all terrible.

Derek Anderson and Max Hall each tossed an interception and the three quarterbacks combined for only 119 yards passing.

The fans in Arizona, as well as the offensive players, must be sick of watching this awful passing game. ( Read More…)

Cardinals no match for 49ers, 27-6

The Arizona Cardinals were outplayed every way possible in a 27-6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

It was an embarassing performance from the Cardinals in so many ways, especially with the way their defense folded up like a tent.

The Cardinals surrendered 261 rushing yards to San Francisco, and Frank Gore missed most of the game with an injury.

Quarterback Derek Anderson finished with 191 yards and an interception, and was erratic as usual. ( Read More…)

Cardinals fall to Seahawks, 36-18

The host Arizona Cardinals’ recent struggles continued in a 36-18 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

The quarterback problems for Arizona have just completely undermined the team’s chances to win each week.

Quarterback Derek Anderson threw for over 300 yards and only had one interception, but his inaccuracy isn’t allowing the offense to move the chains on a consistent basis.

The running game has also been a struggle as neither Tim Hightower nor Beanie Wells appear to be the answer.

Head coach Ken Whisenhunt admitted to being frustrated after the game but said the team will keep plugging away.

Cardinals fall apart late against Vikings, 27-24

The Arizona Cardinals blew a large fourth-quarter lead in a 27-24 overtime loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Cardinals held a 14-point lead entering the fourth quarter thanks to two special teams touchdowns.

However, Arizona’s pass defense had no answer for quarterback Brett Favre, who threw for 446 yards.

They did intercept him twice, including once on the goaline, but it still wasn’t enough to secure the victory. ( Read More…)
